Wine Cellar: Tips to Keep Your Wine Delicious

A lot of people do not realize when they are buying their wine cellar equipment that there are certain things that they are going to need to do in order to keep their wine in the best condition. If you do not store your wine properly then it is going to spoil and when you go to open that aged bottle of wine that you expected to be delicious, it may have a sour taste to it.

If you love your wine, then you want to make sure that you are storing it properly, and this means taking a few things seriously for your wine cellar.

Lighting

One of the most important issues when it comes to a wine cellar is what sort of lighting is installed in it. This is going to have a huge effect on the wine that is being stored in the wine cellar because if there is too much lighting in the cellar this is going to end up creating heat and can spoil the wine.

When you are planning the construction of your wine cellar, you really need to make sure that you are going to be choosing the proper style of lighting. You basically just want to have enough light in the cellar to be able to read the labels but no more than that. Track lighting and recessed lighting all work well here, and just remember that the last thing that you want is any lighting that is going to be so bright that it is going to create heat in the cellar.

Especially when you consider all the hard work that you have put into the cellar thus far to make it the right temperature and have it looking great, it would really be a shame to put in the wrong type of lighting and have the cellar be completely useless.

Size

Of course you are also going to need to figure out what size you want the wine cellar to be. You need to be large enough that it is going to fit all the wine that you have so far but then you also want a bit of extra space, in case you decide to pick up a couple more bottles. Especially if you are more the type to collect the wine rather than drink it and then buy more, you are going to need to make sure that you have substantial room for your growing wine collection.
